DREMA 2018 - a new dimension of the fair - SUMMARY
The 2018 DREMA International Trade Fair of Machines and Tools for the Wood and Furniture Industries proved highly successful. The fair's well-prepared exhibition of modern technologies, machines and tools for the wood and furniture industries as well as a number of accompanying events attracted a lot of specialists from the woodworking sector who decided to come to Poznań. A very successful fair - that was the phrase heard at the majority of the fair stands!
The DREMA, Furnica and Sofab trade fairs saw nearly 500 exhibitors operating in the wood and furniture industries demonstrate solutions dedicated to woodworking, furniture and sawmill industries as well as those related to obtaining energy from wood in a total of 9 exhibition halls. These were complemented by machines for cutting and sewing fabrics, components for furniture production and furniture accessories, as well as adhesives and varnishes. A separate space was dedicated to the Wood Promotion Pavilion - a unique area for making and developing woodworking business and showing the potential of wood as a raw material.
DREMA in numbers
The 2018 DREMA was a record-breaking event - 389 exhibitors from 19 countries - 289 from Poland and 100 from abroad - showcased their products on an exhibition area covering 25,400 m2. During the four days, the exhibition halls occupied by DREMA, Furnica and SoFab were visited by a total of 16,600 professionals from the wood and furniture industries. Thanks to the impressive array of exhibits including lots of brand new offerings and an attractive program prepared in cooperation with the fair's patrons and partners, DREMA 2018 gathered a lot of positive feedback from the visitors.
The 2018 DREMA International Trade Fair of Machines and Tools for the Wood and Furniture Industries, FURNICA Trade Fair of Components for Furniture Production and SOFAB International Trade Fair of Upholstery Fabrics and Components for Upholstered Furniture are the most anticipated meeting of the wood and furniture industries in Poland and at the same time the largest supply centre for furniture manufacturers in Central and Eastern Europe. Crowds of specialists who were looking for modern solutions, machines and tools as well as hundreds of business talks in the exhibition pavilions prove the good condition of the furniture production sector and the need to organize the fair itself.
This year's DREMA exhibition was centered around the concept of Industry 4.0. Much attention was paid to digitization, robotization and automation of technological processes, as well as close cooperation between man and machine. The exhibitors showcased technologies of tomorrow and solutions that meet the requirements of the fourth industrial revolution. Whilst changes in the wood and furniture industry are fast approaching and require investments in appropriate innovations, the 2018 DREMA, FURNICA and SOFAB trade fairs in Poznań are the events to look for inspiration and good practices related to the wood and furniture sector.
Everyone who turned up at the Poznań International Fair between 11 and 14 September 2018 was greatly impressed with both the exhibition and the range of additional events such as conferences, shows and special zones. Visitors could get a glimpse of 16 products awarded with the MTP Gold Medal and see a number of the latest market releases. There was a great interest in the following zones: DREMA Tools, DREMA Design, DREMA For Kids, InfoTEC Workshop for cabinet and upholstered furniture, a seminar organized by the National Labor Inspectorate "Stay safe while processing wood", conference "Biomass in the wood industry", lectures "Wood and furniture industry - safe machinery park in the light of the current Machinery Directive and the idea of Industry 4.0", Varnishing Skills Demonstration Area, B2B Wood Meetings, Polish Furniture Congress POLISH FURNITURE - COMPETITIVE POLAND on "Global standards - global competition", Polish Championships in Nail Hammering as well as exhibits from the following competitions: Conjured up from Wood and the Clash of Champions. On top of that, the Drewno.pl Knowledge Zone, Parquet Floor Area, as well as the Wood Promotion Pavilion operated dynamically throughout the whole fair.
However, the point on the 2018 DREMA agenda that attracted by far the greatest attention of the participants was the House and Wood live studio. It featured practical demonstrations for wood enthusiasts which were broadcast with the use of marketing tools: the DremaTV YouTube channel and as an event on Facebook: DREMA and DremaSilesia - trade fair for the wood and furniture industry.
The DREMA trade fair is an excellent event as it offers an opportunity to present new products and improved solutions for the wood and furniture industries on the one hand, and to get acquainted with a wide range of companies and the directions of development for the industry on the other.
Feel invited to come to Poznań for the next edition scheduled for 10-13 September 2019. Also, please be encouraged to take part in the DremaSilesia fair held from 5 to 7 April 2019 in Sosnowiec. See you there!
